Returns and Refunds

What we believe

If we got it wrong, we fix it and you pay nothing. If you changed your mind, you have 7 days to send it back unused, and you cover the return postage.

If your order arrives damaged

Check your parcel when it arrives. If a product is damaged, write to hi@josei.in within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photograph of the damage.

We will send a replacement. If the title is out of stock, we will refund you in full. You do not pay return shipping, and in most cases we will not ask you to send the damaged copy back.

If you received the wrong book or a defective copy

Wrong title, missing pages, a binding that has come apart. Write to hi@josei.in within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photograph.

We will send the correct or replacement copy at our cost, or refund you in full if you prefer.

If you changed your mind

We accept change of mind returns within 7 days of delivery, as long as the book is unused and in its original condition.

Write to hi@josei.in first with your order number. We will confirm the return address before you post anything. Return postage is yours to cover, and we recommend a tracked service, because we can only process a return we actually receive.

Once it reaches us and passes a quick condition check, we refund the price of the book. Original shipping charges are not refunded.

What we cannot accept

We cannot take back books that have been read, written in, coloured in, or otherwise used.

This one matters more for us than for most sellers, because several of our books are meant to be written in. Once a child has started, the book has done its job and it is theirs.

How refunds work

Refunds go back to the original payment method. Once approved, expect the money within 7 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.

We will email you when the refund is issued.

Cancelling an order

If your order has not been dispatched yet, write to hi@josei.in and we will cancel it and refund you in full. Once it is with the courier, treat it as a return.
