Who we are

Birdy makes science-backed books for modern families. We are operated by Josei Infinite Private Limited, IHDP Business Park, Street Number 7, Sector 127, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 201304, India.

We ask parents to trust us with a home address where their child lives. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hi@josei.in.

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, delivery address, phone number, email address, and details of what you bought.

When you sign up for emails: your email address, and your name if you give it.

When you write to us: whatever you choose to include in your message.

Automatically, when you browse: your device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our site. This comes from cookies and similar technologies.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• Process your order and get your books to you
• Answer your questions and handle returns
• Send you the emails you have signed up for, and nothing else
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
• Keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.

Payments

We do not see or store your card details. Payments are handled by our payment provider, who processes them securely and holds that information under their own privacy terms.

Who we share it with

We share what is necessary with:

• Delivery partners, so your order reaches you
• Our payment provider, to take payment
• The tools we use to send emails and measure site traffic
• Authorities, where the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

Children

Our books are for children. This site is for the adults who buy them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen, and there is nowhere on this site for a child to give us their details.

If you believe a child has given us their information, write to hi@josei.in and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes. Marketing emails stop the moment you unsubscribe, and we remove your address from that list. Anything else, we keep only as long as we need it for the reasons above.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will, except where we are legally required to hold on to a record.

Your choices

You can:

• Ask what information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• Ask us to delete your information
• Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email we send
• Control cookies through your browser or through our cookie notice

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we treat your details carefully and limit who can access them.
